Variety of Life: Sophoreae

Belongs within: Papilionoideae.

The Sophoreae is a primarily tropical tribe of the Papilionoideae, many members of which are small trees. Sophoreae are distinguished by the possession of free stamens and pinnate leaves (Rendle 1925).
